I give Island Movers one star only because it’s not possible to give them zero. I would caution anyone using this firm to use great caution and assume they will take no responsibility for anything that goes wrong during your move. We moved from Honolulu, HI to Orange County, California last summer. With the exception of a few small boxes containing paperwork, Island Movers packed all the contents of our one bedroom apartment. The bill of lading did not explicitly describe the contents of the boxes they packed. When our possessions arrived in California several weeks later we were missing all of our electronics except for our television. These included a PS3 unit, an Apple laptop computer and two high quality HD cables. For weeks they refused to take any responsibility and pointed out that we packed a few of the small boxes ourselves which could have contained our missing items. They checked with the two movers who said they didn’t remember seeing any of these items. Only when we discovered that our PS3 unit was being used to stream movies on our Netflix account and we filed a complaint with the Honolulu Police Department did Island Movers take notice. Since we’re unable to get our PS3 serial number from Sony and the HPD is therefore unable to get a warrant, we cannot get the IP information from Netflix to track down the unit. Island Movers has again stopped responding to our calls and emails. Buyer beware. This is not an ethical company!!!
