Review content:
The first time we went to Mason Congregational, we were bringing 3 of our 4 young NH grandchildren to Sunday school by ourselves - we were lost, it started to snow. We were 15 minutes late. The church was a haven of warmth and peace; soon our spirits were calmed and our souls soothed. Wartime - a time when religion can easily be used as a political tool - but blessedly there was none of that side-taking which raises the hackles and tears a congregation apart. The sermon called us to loftier thoughts, more personal challenges. Our 7 year old, shy of Sunday School, listened soberly and intently, as did we all. The sermon was beautifully worked out to tell a story, make a point, feed the hungry soul. The music was magical, the uplifting gift of a small handful and a charmed director. The fellowship hour after was the old fashioned kind - a small gathering, sandwich makings, homemade sweets, sweet human warmth. That day a Sunday School celebration brought each child a gift. I enjoyed conversing with several old timers and wished we lived in NH. Over the next year and a half we visited NH family and the Mason Congregational Church. \r
The most recent visit was to be present for the baptism of these four grandchildren. Our children have found a home in this church.
