We were recommended by a friend that knew someone who takes all his dogs to Island lake Clinic to crop they're ears. The first time we went Dr. Max was really nice and seemed caring. He told us to come back at 12 weeks to go ahead with the procedure for $375 with everything included. A day or so after the procedure we noticed the cone ripped Cain's skin back, so they told us to bring him in only to find out Dr. Max wasn't even there. We had to come back the following day to get a staple put in his ear. Then I made an appointment to get his stitches removed only to find out yet again Dr. Max wasnt there that day. After finally letting the ears heal we noticed there is a Noticeable difference in his ears. We went there yet again and Dr. Max noticed they were off asked that we wait until Cain is full grown at 9 months to see if they even out and if not he will fix it at no cost to us. We did not understand why it mattered if the ear was standing up yet since it was the measurements that were off but he's the Doctor so we listened to his suggestion. We brought him in at 9am when he was 9 months. Dr. Max seemed as if he was trying to convince us that the ear is just not standing because the length is the same. I didn't understand how he was eye balling it and for sure saying it is even height. I asked he measure them to be sure so he did and said the length is fine but the width is off so he will fix the one ear to match the other and asked us if we have the cone from when he was 12 weeks. There is no way that cone would fit him now since he is 3x the size and he chewed it up anyways. I asked if he can just give us one and he nodded his head in agreement. We came back at 5:30pm and the women at the front desk never made eye contact and made me feel uncomfortable. We waited a long time then the front desk girl came up to me asking for the cone. I told her Dr. Max said he would give us one and she turned around and walked away in the middle of me talking. RUDE! Then Dr. Max came out saying everything went well but we need to buy a cone. He suggested we get one from pet smart. We expressed how we were told everything will be at no cost and he should provide one but he stood there and said he has those for our convenience to purchase. We told him we would never be in this situation if he would have done the cropping correctly the first time and we would never have to put our dog through this again. Dr. Max had the nerve to say we came in saying the length was off but it wasn't so it has to come out of our pocket. My fiance walked out and I still stayed trying to get the cone that we deserve but realized he's not giving it to us so I left too. Not once did he try to discuss what he did and what we should expect when we get home, no pain meds and no cone. To top it off, while we were getting in the car the vet assistant yelled out the window, ""Have a nice day!"" And slammed the window shut. We go get a cone from the nearest store and as soon as we get home Cain shakes his head and blood splatters everywhere. All over my fiances face, clothes and kitchen. We were freaking out so we went to the nearest animal hospital to find out we need $$$ up front so we wasted so much time trying to find $$$ or a place that will help us and finally McHenry emergency clinic was wonderful! We got home at 11pm. This all happened while my 2 young children were present and scared for our dog. How can you live with your self! Take pride in your work! Caregivers should actually care! I would give zero stars if I could, I do not recommend!
