Review content:
After a disappointing dinner, I decided to try Nola again, this time for lunch--I was disappointed again. On both occasions, the food was mediocre at best. The menu was pretentious, yet the meals were not well prepared. Why chefs sometimes feel the need to channel the spirits of 80's haute cuisine without bothering to master basic cooking technique is beyond me. Well prepared, simple, rustic food would have been so much more satisfying and appropriate. In addition, service was, at the same time, both ingratiating and absent. I wanted to enjoy this place, but I won't be back. How sad.
Pros: Appealing ambiance
Cons: Second rate cuisine, Overpriced
