Review content:
As a former resident of the RTC center that ETOD has to offer, I want to say that this place is a lifesaver. I was taken from my mother at the age of 12 due to abuse. I kept being moved from place to place over a period of 5 years. I kept running away from all of them. ETOD was different. The staff actually took time out to find out what was going on and what they could do to remedy the situation. I caught up in my school work there (I was about 3 years behind). I learned to be independent as far as household chores (cooking, laundry, cleaning) go. Once again I have to commend the staff--those ladies are GREAT!!! No one really wants to be in a place where you have teenagers spitting on you, yelling/screaming at you, fighting, running away, disturbing other residents at bed time, etc...but these women did that with no problem and held no grudges, most of them with their own children at home.It really takes someone special to do that and put up with it on a daily basis. Not once did we ever run any of our "mamas" off, and boy did they try. I would definately say that ETOD gave me a whole new outlook on life. I honestly believe that I wouldnt be where I am today if they hadnt been a part of my life 6 years ago. Not a day goes by that I dont think of that small, close knit, facility in Marshall, TX.
