Our family used to be loyal supporters of Shoppe 7. We have bought several items over the last couple of years and consigned there too. We recently had an encounter with the manager and owner of this establishment that ranks among the most egregious, insulting, and rude handling of a product question/dispute that I have ever encountered. As a private, family run business owner, it amazes me that in the current economic climate, a place like Shoppe 7 and its ownership are willing to treat my wife with such disrespect and with such low integrity.
They sold us an expensive, used breast pump, which did not work as they had promised at the point of purchase. Not only were they unhelpful when we called back, they were insulting, implying that we didn't know how to use it properly. We contacted the manufacturer for trouble shooting help and they verified that the pump was not working properly. The manufacturer also noted that FDA is strongly opposed to selling/using used breast pumps for bacterial and safety concerns. When we approached Shoppe 7 with this information they were continually unbending, rude, and allowed the situation to deteriorate to the level of arguing. They refused to return our money, offering an exchange for a cheaper pump, but without giving us the difference in what we paid. Beyond that, they disputed the claims we made about safety. When we asked them to acknowledge the fact that they are knowingly selling something that has a disputed health record to parents with young children, the manager stated, ""That's what we have insurance for.""
We closed our consignment account and will never be shopping with this establishment again. We have notified all of our family and friends. We strongly encourage you to shop elsewhere for your family's needs. This is a horribly run establishment that looks good on the surface but fails miserably at follow through. They obviously do not understand the importance of good customer service or community connection, especially in a nice small town like Battle Ground.
Please note that ""Kidz Cloz"" is just across the street and has been very helpful and nice to our family and several other people we know.
