Review content:
I was visiting LA for a few days and wanted to try the place. I drove by the locations in LA and the neighborhoods looked scary, so we opted to take a trip to Pasadena to check it out. It was a 15 minute ride out of the city and was located in a quaint neighborhood. We were seated promptly and our fantastic waitress recommended a couple specialty drinks, mixtures of lemonade/ice tea and fruitpunch/lemonde. So good. The waffles were the best I ever tasted. Almost like funnelcakes with syrup. Scrambled eggs with onions rocked. So did the mac and cheese and cornbread. Both so good. Chicken was nice too, but I loved the sides and waffles best. Nice atmosphere, but got a bit loud with groups as it got later. Bathroom was clean. I will come back next time in LA. Soul food at it's best!
