Review content:
My name is Julie Forkal. I am the owner of Pet-Tacular Pet Grooming in Mokena. When I first read this review I was very angry that a client of 5 years would say such vicious and cruel things, especially since she never once called with her concerns. This review was written by her the very same day as her appointment.\r
I want to make it clear that this woman's shih tzu was not shaved because I felt like it. When she got the puppy, I explained the importance of regular grooming and how easily she would mat. The pup came in a few times with a few mats. One particular time she brought her in severely matted. I gave her the option of brushing the dog out and dematting, which would be very painful for the dog, or taking her short. In hindsight I probably should have made very clear that short meant she would be shaved due to the severe matting. She opted to go short because she didn't want to cause the dog any pain. When she picked her up she was visibly upset, but I thought she understood the reason why we shaved her and that that what she chose to do. I was hoping we could keep her brushed and groom her more often, but instead she posted this review and never came back.\r
Rather that being angry, bad-mouthing her, and so on, I am going to use this as a learning experience for me. Unfortunately I had to lose a client in the process. From then on, I have made sure that verbal instructions are very clear and I have focused on educating owners about the importance of brushing between groomings. I am sorry that this client has never allowed me the opportunity to make things right. \r
