I was a Ph.D. student, single mother of two, and doing my best to hold down a steady job as a receptionist in a local doctor’s office. I had always dreamed of one day becoming a doctor myself, just not in the medical profession. When I was younger, doing my undergraduate degree, online universities were not really big at the time, so I really wasn’t even aware of their existence let alone did I have any interest in attending one. But as the years past and I had fallen into a sort of rut with my career, I finally mustered up the energy to go back to school, taking online night classes. I had great success in my first few years, having no trouble coming home from work and going right into class. When it finally came to writing my dissertation for my Ph.D. though, things were not going as easy as they had in the past. I worked until my eyes burned from looking at the computer screen to do the research and writing for the proposal of my dissertation. I just kept telling myself that if I could just get to the data collection phase, I could do it. After having to re-take my course twice, I finally decided to get some help.
