Review content:
My husband and I visited Casa Nostra this last Saturday and I ordered my usual, a Tortellini Alfredo ($11.99) with shrimp ($3.00) and vegetables ($2.50). My husband ordered a Spicy Regatoni ($13.99) and we shared Calamari ($8.99) for our appetizer. We visited around 8 pm on a Saturday night and though there were plenty of open tables in the new addition (bar area) we were not seated for over 30 minutes. At one point I asked the hostess if she was aware of our willingness and desire to sit at the first available table. She was polite and stated the tables were not ready, this gave me the impression they were understaffed. Once seated, our waiter James took our order. However I would describe James more as a ""go get it boy"" rather than a waiter. James was unable to anticipate our needs. Basic needs such as silver wear and refills were continuously unmet, standard items were only brought when asked. Good waiters anticipate the customers needs. We waited another 25 minutes before we received our Calamari. Plates were not served with our appetizer. When we finally received our dinner I immediately noticed the texture and consistency of our meals. Both meals were made with an alfredo sauce which is supposed to be rich and creamy. However our sauces were both extremely runny and soup like. My husband who never complains stated he could drink the sauce out of a straw it was so runny. I myslef compared my meal to dumpling soup and not pasta. To add insult to injury the meal only came with 5 small salad sized shrimp which was unsatisfactory given the upcharge for the extra shrimp. After contemplation I decide to send my meal back. I told our waiter James the meal was unsatisfactory and far to watered down. His response was ""Thats how it is, its supposed to be like that."" I let him know that I order the same item every time I visit and that I am well aware of how it ""always is"" and how it should be. He then stated they had a new cook and they have had multiple complaints. At one point he asked ""What would you like me to do?"" I stated I would like a new Tortellini made properly. He refused and told me it will be the same. Needless to say we were extremely unsatisfied with food and service.
