Businiess name:  Carman Shoe Store & Repair Shp
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
In an effort to support local business I went to Carman's with two 15 year old Italian bags. He charged me $46 for ten minutes worth of stitching on a hand bag (probably five inches of total stitching through fabric, not leather) and $98 to ""refurbish"" another bag. Upon retrieval of my repaired bags, I was suspicious of the price that I was charged and I took the pieces to another, somewhat nearby shoe repair person with rave reviews, I was told that the repairs should have cost me a total of $15 and that the bag had actually not been refurbished at all, but some clear enamel had been poorly and incompletely applied to the bag. Of course, no surprise here, Carman's refused to reimburse me for part of the $150 that I was charged and had no explanation as to why other repair people could not stand by his work. If you want to be robbed, go to Carman's. Truly, find other local businesses to patronize and take your shoe repairs to someone who won't charge you double the cost of a new pair of shoes. Pros: On-time Cons: Grossly overpriced, Poor quality of work
