was referred to VMS by my vet. Spent $3,000 to be told my dog Dalia had inoperable cancer. I have a hunting lab. I was told there was a good probability my dog had a fungal infection or it could be cancer. After I paid the $1,500. deposit and left my dog for a Rinoscopy and Cat Scan, I spoke with another vet, who asked three questions. Was whiteblood count elevated? NO. If it was an infection it would be elevated. Did the dog have any nasal discharged besidesblood? NO. Fungal infections almost always 99.9% of the time have a yellow, green, or grey discharge. Was the growth where her nose meets the skull hard or soft. Hard. Fungal tumors are soft not hard. The vet said I am sorry but your dog has cancer. I truly felt like I was taken advantage of by VMS. I would NEVER recommend VMS to anyone. After the procedure, I asked the vet if it was ok to take my dog hunting. Dalia lives to be in the field. I was told not to, because she could bleedout in the field. I explained there were vets within 15 minutes of where I was hunting, which is closer than my vet. After a frank discussion, I realized the vet did not like hunters, and was told to do Whatever You Are Going to Do! That was 3+ months, and 3 outstanding hunts ago. Today is a bad day for Dalia. I will be saying good bye to her very soon. I hope your dog never has the same symptoms as my dog, but if she does don't take your dog to VMS.
