To avoid a libel suit, I will refer to the two employees as R. (for rude) and S. (for sarcastic). I will even rename the service I paid for: let's call it a Clas Iven. I am writing this a little over an hour since the incident. I had been to this place a few times in the past, and had gotten good service. A couple of days ago, I made an appointment for a Clas Iven, as part of an application. ""Be here ON the hour,"" R. said. ""I have another appointment a half hour after you, and these things can take time."" We also discussed some other documents. So far, so good. The following day, our home healthcare aide (my mother has dementia, and I am managing the household in addition to seeing to her care) kept me for a minute or two, as I was about to walk out the door. She wanted to give me an update on my mother's condition that morning. I walked into Coronado Mail and Parcel at exactly three minutes past the hour, by their clock. S. (who was behind the counter), looked up at me and snickered. *Snickered*. ""I was about to put you on my Blacklist,"" R. said, upset, not smiling, not joking. (""You have a *blacklist*?"" I thought, incredulously). Nobody said hello, or good morning. I said something about being lucky that he (R.) would still see me, since there were no other Clas Iven stores on the Island. ""You're right about that,"" R. said, poker-faced, still not joking. (I was trying to lighten things up - I was only 3 minutes late, for an appointment that had 30 minutes scheduled, and would probably take much less time than that.) I could have walked out at that point. I chose to stay. It only took 14 minutes, we were wrapping up at 17 minutes past the hour. Four other customers walked in, including R.'s next appointment. ""Well, what about the other documents?"" R. asked. ""Other documents?"" I asked politely, as I was closing my wallet. ""YES,"" he said, his voice angry, heavy with sarcasm. ""The documents we talked about the other day. DO you or DON'T you want to schedule an appointment for them???"" He was speaking to me with this angry, mocking tone, as though I was a mildly retarded child that had gotten on his nerves. His rudeness, and his anger, were so apparent that the other four customers in the shop froze, turned, and just stared at him (his back, actually - he was turned away from everyone else in the shop, berating me). I said something about needing to make a phone call, and got out of there. I have no words for this. I cannot understand how someone can be like this to a polite, paying customer. What I *can* do is to recommend the Postal Annex on Orange Avenue (very good, thorough, Polite service), and Postal Unlimited on 1st Street. Coronado Mail and Parcel just lost my business.
