It's in an area with designer shops (Idoru) and great restaurants (The MeltingPot, The Chop House), yet it's stands alone. The other coffee shops in the area are themed and not so big. Pikes Perk has two-stories with a roof top patio, perfect for late evening chats while the sun sets. The second story has large windows to see onto the street below. The coffee selection is great, and very, very cheap. I always get a White Mountain, I think it's called. College students crowd it on weeday nights for studying or chats. Though it's not filled with mod-art paintings (The mural upstairs is of South Park-looking mountains) or model/waiters, it's one of the cooler places in the area. Relax on the large leather couch, play scrabble (among other games they offer), or work in a silent corner. Pros: always a seat available, cheap, good coffee
