I filed Bankruptcy Last year in 2009 of June. All of my debt was unsecured so I had to file for a chapter 7. I was told that the Trustee couldn't ask for anything after the date of filing my bankruptcy with the court. WRONG The trustee asked for a bank statement that was after my filing date I asked why he needed it and they couldn't answer me. Also the trustee ended up take over half of my 2009 tax return I was also not told he could take my taxes that I get back. I am a single parent taking care of 2 kids by my self with no help for the mom or the state and He took my tax return.That is what I live on So if you are thinking about Bankruptcy remember to ask about this or you will get screwed like I did. Also, It has almost been a year since I filed and I am just now getting everything straightened out not what I was told when I went in. I wouldn't be so mad but the debt I filed on I wasn't paying at the time anyhow so I didn't get any relief losing any monthly bills... Now I am going to have to struggle the rest of the year because I was never told about ppl taking my taxes I wasn't a couple of hundred dollars either I am having to pay the trustee almost 5,000 dollars from my tax return. So watch out and be careful.
