Review content:
The King Estate Winery visitor center is an amazing place to take your friends and family from out of town. The winery is oppulent in every way; designed to give the feeling of a hillside vineyard property in Cote D'Or or Bordeaux. The food is excellent with most of the produce coming from the 50 acre gardens right there on the estate. The menu changes frequently based on the seasonal ingredients available. Since the ""editorial review"" was written a lot has changed. In 2005 the winery expanded to build a full scale fine dining restaurant with a beautifully equipped tasting room. People who tour the state's wineries always seem to rank King Estate in their top 3 if not number 1. The Estate is now 1,000 acres with about 40% producing fruit. The Estate is certified Organic by the Oregon Tilth (very stringent guidelines). The expansion I mentioned also included the building of the King Estate marketplace which sells gifts, wine, bread, drinks, food, and organic Estate grown produce. (note: MarketPlace is closed during the winter months). \r \r I highly recommend paying a visit to the Estate anytime you are in the area, you won't be sorry. Nothing in the are compares to this high caliber restaurant and winery where no expense has been spared. Pros: Great food, greater wine, knowledgable staff, reasonable prices, COMPLIMENTARY WINE TASTINGS Cons: Drive can be a bit long, 20-30 minutes from downtown Eugene, but well worth the trip especially in the summer. The drive is also very beautiful on nicely paved roads with great views all the way.
