3 Years ago I discovered Matoi with some friends while working in the Tampa area. That night was AMAZING!!! It was among the best Sushi I have ever had. And the staff was as top notch as the food. It made such an impression I went back before I left Florida. The following year I went back hoping to have some of that sushi again only to learn that there was a fire and they were closed to rebuild.
So, that brings me to this year. I went last night. They were open for business. I found a place at the sushi bar and ordered. And again, it was AMAZING. The second order was also AMAZING. So much so I got lost in the bliss of what I was eating and left without a very important item.
I called today hoping that someone might have found it. I talked with Sam and he searched and searched. no luck. So we hung up. A few minutes later I get a call back. HE FOUND IT!!! And was able to make arrangements to ship to me (since I had already left town).
This is one instance where the service went really far beyond the food...and the food was (again) AMAZING!!! And I imagine many people have had experiences like mine at Matoi.
Bottom line. I WILL BE BACK. Hopefully soon!!!
