Just got back from Romeo's Euro Cafe (visiting Phoenix and went to Romeo's based on CitySearch reviews). The cafe is primarily lunch and dinner, with entrees around the $18-20 range (though they come with choice of soup or salad). The menu is HUGE. They have several pages packed full of creatively named nouveau cuisine appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. We needed a full 15 minutes to decide on what we wanted to eat (Chicken Astoria for me, Farfalle pesce for my wife, and Sunshine Beef for our friend). We started with an appetizer of Feta cheese, Kalamata olives, pita bread (really good, too), tomatoes, and onions. Unfortunately, though they have an impressive wine selection, our server was not very helpful in recommending a wine for my wife's dinner, so she ended up with a standard white wine. Also, they have a decent selection of bottled beer, but no beer on tap, and no Dos Equis? (who doesn't have XX nowadays?) Not a huge deal, though. The portions were really large, and none of us made hardly a dent in our meals. The food was really good, with a creamy marsala sauce smothering a ham covered chicken breast, and topped off with veggies (asparagus, green beans) and linguine. Mmm. But I could only eat about a third of the dish. Honestly, this is one of those rare situations where I would actually suggest that the restaurant make their portions smaller and perhaps charge a little less for them, too. That's just way too much food. The desserts looked really fantastic, but we had so much entree that we just couldn't do dessert. I strongly recommend Romeo's Euro Cafe. A bit expensive, but lots of selection and large portions guarantee you won't go home hungry or feeling short changed.
