Review content:
I recently had the experience of using Powers Entertainment for a wedding in Missouri. The d.j. was okay and played some of the newest hits. However, after my bridesmaids requested a song that he did not have he wanted to charge them $1 for him to download the song from Itunes. You think it would be covered in the cost of what we paid him which was over $100 per hour. Not to mention it is beyond tacky to hand over dollar bills to the d.j. when we are trying to celebrate a wedding.\r
\r
Also, he played songs that were on our DO NOT PLAY list. He also left his station more than a few times and we could not find where he went although he wasn't gone for long he was missing enough times for us to notice. The dinner music was boring. During the planning process the songs that he recommended we play for various events such as bouquet toss, etc. were outdated and did not even have some of the more popular selections for such events.\r
\r
There are other d.j.'s from Jefferson City and Columbia that I should have investigated more in depth before hiring Powers Entertainment for my wedding.
Pros: Dressed professionally. Obviously has dj'd weddings before but seemed so robotic and wasn't really fond of performing events out of order to spice up the reception.
Cons: The dollar download drama, lack of knowing the most popular songs for wedding events like bouquet toss, garter toss, etc.
