poor lighting (the waiter used his flashlight to help me with the menu); could barely see the food; seating was fine; not crowded...went here on a saturday night; the wait staff was extremely helpful and courteous. the food was not that great, good, but not outstanding. i've tried JiRaffe, which is owned by a close friend of the owner of Melisse. That place is much better. You can actually see the food, nicer decor (get the upstairs room); service is so-so; my waitress didn't know how to pour wine correctly...spilled some in my sparkling water. Melisse is not a New French restaurant...the menu was very traditional and so was the taste...maybe that's why i didn't like it too much
