Review content:
When I dropped my two dogs off at Kolstads K-9 for the first time, I felt good about the facility, the owner and family seemed nice enough and despite my hesitation about the cleanliness of the family-owned building, I figured they would be receiving more personal attention than other facilities. I should have listened to my hesitation. When we picked the dogs up, we realized they had gotten the dogs food mixed up (even though I clearly bagged and marked with their name, each meal separately) and both dogs were sick with diarrhea from eating the wrong food all weekend. Within minutes of getting home we also realized one of the dogs had a Urinary Tract Infection - which for dogs is typically cause by unsanitary climate, or holding their urine in for too long, which made me wonder just how often they let the dogs out? I also had reason to believe the blankets I sent with them to keep in their kennel to remind them of home, were never taken out of the bag I brought them in. Any money we saved using Kolstads has been quickly wasted on vet bills to fix our poor dog's ailments. We will not be using them again, nor would we recommend them. It's a shame too, it could have been a nice way of supporting Minnesota family owned businesses.
