Review content:
I got transferred to this small U-Haul franchise when I reserved a ten-foot rental truck from the U-Haul at 2636 Judah Street. When I pulled into the shopping center on Cambon Drive, I saw several U-Haul vehicles but no U-Haul building. The manager, Al, had not informed me beforehand that his ""office"" is located inside the Park Plaza Fine Foods supermarket, with Al and his U-Haul employees doubling as grocery cashiers! He seemed quite friendly, but processed my order at a snail's pace, pecking away at his keyboard with two fingers. Finally he gave me the number of my truck, which I had to find myself among the vehicles parked in the supermarket lot. They charge only 89 cents per mile on top of the flat truck-rental rate of $19.95, and they struck me as honest. They let me park my car in the supermarket lot while I rented the truck.
Pros: Low per-mile rate, free & safe parking
Cons: Hand-to-mouth management, slow order-processing
