Businiess name:  Truman's Restaurant
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
McDonough is not known for it's dining scene, but does have a few points of interest. Trumans looks like it should be one. The old house that is home to Truman's is charming, and the chef/owner is ever present and friendly. But the food is consistantly disappointing.\r Fried items, such as the fried green tomatoe appetizer, tend to be greasy. Portions are small, especially considering the area and the price. Burgers have a salty mixed grilling spice dumped in great abundance on them, completely covering any beef flavor and making the burger too salty to eat. Other items are similarly over spiced and over salted, perhaps to cover their less than perfect preparation.\r While Trumans is charming, the food is much better just across the square at any of three similar establishments. Better yet, Gritz Family Restaurant is more in character in McDonough, and consistantly serves frankly better food.\r Pros: Charming location Cons: Consistantly poor food
