Review content:
It's so tempting to use River Oaks Cleaners because they're so close to my apartment, but it's just not worth it. My first bad experience was with a suit - I'd dropped off a pair of my husband's suit pants with the guarantee that they'd be done by 5:00 the next day before he flew out of town on business. I showed up at 5:00, and not only were they not done, they couldn't find them. They tried very hard to pass off some other poor person's pants as his, but when I insisted they weren't ours they finally found them in a pile on the floor in the back room. We had to steam them out ourselves since they wouldn't fix it on the spot, nor did they offer us a free future cleaning or any sort of compensation. Some six months after that, they put my favorite (dry clean only) sweater through the regular laundry and shrunk it, despite the instructions we left with them that were printed on their tag. They offered to stretch it back out, but refused compensation since I no longer had the original receipt. Of course, the drop off order was still listed on their computer and the tag was still on the sweater, but that wasn't good enough. \r \r Most recently, I received a couple of coupons from a silent auction for charity. The bid slip read ""good for all locations"" but when I received the coupons the Sugar Land address was printed on them. They accepted the first coupon (after taking a day to approve the transaction), but the same staff flatly refused to accept the second. They told me that this was because they are not affiliated with the Sugar Land location, but of course all the locations are listed on the same website. \r \r I'll be going to Swan's Cleaners from now, where the service is impeccable and the staff doesn't so clearly enjoy telling people no. I'd like to think they don't pile up your clothes on the floor either. Pros: Location, drive through Cons: Argumentative staff, poor dry cleaning quality, clothes damaged
