Review content:
I was in downtown Los Angeles yesterday and came across a Mercado and decided to take a look around. While I was in there, I came across Chichen Itza. I had heard about the restaurant on one of the news stations as having fantastic Yucatan cuisine. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Bistec which was on special and my friend ordered the Cochinita Pibil. My dish was absolutely fantastic, flavorful with a good portion. However, I was actually a little disappointed because the Cochinita Pibil was even better. I also tried a little bit of their habenero sauce which they make and you can actually purchase it. It compliments the flavor of the dishes nicely. However, be careful. You only need a little bit. If you get too much, it will light your mouth up. With all of the good restaurants in Los Angeles, it is rare that one really stands out. Can't wait to go back and have another wonderful meal.
