Review content:
I bought my Toshiba 62""DLP television from HH Gregg in May 2007. I paid $400 for a 5 year warranty at that time. On April 1, 2008 I was watching TV when I heard a pop and the picture went out. I called HH Gregg who referred me to Norman's Electronics (apparently the only people in Nashville ""qualified"" to repair these televisions). I called on the 1st and scheduled my repair for the 9th. On the 8th, Norman's called me to let me know that they ""triaged"" my problem and were 90% sure it was a lamp. But they don't keep them in stock so it would be another 7-10 days. I asked when the triage was done to which they replied the 7th. Why was my paperwork not looked at on the 1st when I actually called and scheduled a repairman to come to my home? I told them this was unacceptable as I was having 15-20 people over to my house on the 12th and needed a TV. I suggested reimbursement for a rental TV or going to get a bulb from a TV at H.H. Gregg, to which they replied, ""We don't do that."" So much for customer service. I was on the phone with Norman's and HH Gregg several times on the 16th (over 2 weeks after my lamp went out) getting a different answer/excuse (""Now we'll be out there on the 23rd""...over 3 weeks after my initial call) with each phone call. I finally went out to Norman's on the 16th, picked up the lamp, and replaced it myself. So why did I pay $400 for a warranty and still not have a TV for over 2 weeks? When I did go out there, their repairman was leaving with my lamp in his truck. Why was he taking my lamp out if they weren't scheduled for my house until the 23rd? Probably to repair another customer's TV. \r
I had to use them because of where I bought my TV. My suggestion is not to shop at HH Gregg and certainly to avoid Norman's Electronics at all costs. I was without my TV for over 2 weeks and finally had to repair it myself. I also work in a field where I have to triage, and if I see a patient that needs immediate attention I don't wait 7 days to look at it.
Cons: very poor customer service, inept employees
