Review content:
I give Martha's a 3.5 out of 5. Its a good shop. \r
I've seen a lot worse & I have seen better.\r
I can tell you that I usually select bike shops based on what I am looking for. But this is me.\r
\r
Martha's is usually my first choice. It is my local shop and I have a business relationship with Ed, the owner. My needs are satisfied most of the time. When needs are not met, I make sure I let Ed know about it. Ed has told me that he is working to make improvements. To Ed's credit, He Pretty Much Runs The Place Himself. At times he does have 2 other part time employees. All in all, I don't think Martha's is doing too bad for a small local business with limited resources.\r
\r
What Martha's Does Right: \r
Martha's is way above average when it comes to mechanical repairs. Martha's actually fixes things that other shops ether miss or can't fix. As for customers looking to buy bikes, Martha's will make sure you are happy with your purchase. They can even custom fit you to the bike you buy. If your looking for a Trek, They can get just about anything (as long as Trek has it). Service after the sale is good. \r
\r
As for some of the negative things I've read in the negative posts about this shop: 1) Two of the posts can't be identified hence I myself find their credibility questionable. As for the third negative review, it sounds as if the customer was in error going to Marthas in the first place.\r
Perhaps I am in a unique situation because as a mechanic I know not everything can be fixed nor can everything be worked on by anybody. Furthermore, as an employee having retail experience myself, I guess I am just a little more understanding of the many challenges of customer service. I myself have experienced Cockyness, Rudeness, and Sales Pressure. As a customer, I am in control. Even then, sometimes things happen. I know in my business that I can't satisfy 100 % I'm sure Marthas knows the same thing. So I Say Give Marthas A Try. See For Yourself. Perhaps you too will experience the Marthas Difference and if you do, tell Ed D. Gilly Gilbert sent you.
