Review content:
Panic set in after my attempt to relocate the kitchen drain turned into a much bigger job. What should have been a simple cut into the existing 2 inch galvanized drain pipe to add pvc pipe with a fernco went awry after the metal pipe easily pulled out of the basement floor exposing a 5 inch ceramic opening. Of course this was Saturday evening. After googling several DIY sites for a solution I flipped through the yellow pages and found a plumber that was available on Sundays and at no extra charge. Dennis, employee #3725, arrived promptly after phoning ahead. He offered a solution that was inline with my prior research and after agreeing on the price began digging up the basement floor to expose the ceramic pipe and properly joined it to modern pvc. After back filling with pea gravel then covering with a new layer of concrete he cleaned up the area making it look new. Thankyou Dennis for fixing my problem and adding a bit of modernization to my 111 year old house.
