Review content:
I have tried this restaurant a second time after already one bad experience. I wanted to try it again to see if it improved.\r
\r
I was promptly greeted and was seated at the Sushi bar. The waiter gave me a tall glass of water and asked if I would like anything else to drink. I asked if they could recommend a Sake. They offered me a taste of a super market variety...which I asked if they knew anything about Sake. They said no. They then set up for glasses and poured different Sake into each and asked which one I would like. I thought, what a waste, if this was expensive Sake.\r
\r
Next I choose a vegetarian noodle dish for dinner, and asked for medium spicy. The waiter then came back since the restaurant was not very full and started to talk to me. I asked how they liked working at Sumi's. Pandora's box just opened. They started to talk about the lack of business, and that the restaurant down the street had better tips. The waiter then launched into their past employment. \r
\r
Dinner came and the waiter said, ""if you don't like it, I can take it back."" That was a red flag. I tried it and sure enough, the dish had no spice at all and lacked vegetables. I complained about it and they took it back. Next it came back and had so much spice that it could not be eaten and again had a few pieces of broccoli, but that was it for vegetables.\r
\r
Sumi's has a very nice decor and with some help could be a really fun place to dine. They really miss the mark on service and the food could be a lot better.\r
Pros: Really nice interior, great outside seating in the summer
Cons: poor staff, below average food
