Review content:
Let me start this off by saying that I am 26 and up until March of this year I was a basket case diet addict. No, really, I was. I had tried it ALL- guaranteed. I would lose some weight, gain it back (twice over, typically), find a different diet and then settle in for the evening with a bag of Double Stuffed Oreo's and cry myself to sleep- only to start the same insanity all over again. This form of extreme dieting and binge eating had not only wrecked my self-confidence, it RUINED my metabolism. I was hopeless- not to mention fat, fatigued and depressed. Just when I thought life couldn't POSSIBLY get any worse- I was ""summoned"" to be in my best friends wedding in 4 months time. Dear, Lord. Mental images of my large body exploding out of my bridesmaid dress sent me over the edge. I ""Googled"" every crash diet out there. Dead end- I had tried ALL of them. The next day, while crying tears of impending doom over a greasy burrito and cheese plate, I remembered a coworker of mine who had just started trying out a program called Medi Weight Loss and had lost a great deal of weight. I booked an appointment and counted down the days till starvation began. Let me tell you, I couldn't have been any more off base on my expectations of what MWL was. From my first consultation (early March) until now (January), I have lost just over 60 pounds. NO STARVATION necessary! My self diagnosed sugar addiction and the undeniable desire to cram as many spoonfuls of ice cream into my mouth at one time- it's all gone. My life has truly been forever changed. I never would have thought the day would come when I could go out to dinner with my girlfriends and LOOK FORWARD to ordering a healthy meal, exercising regularly and shopping for clothes. It has been just as much an internal improvement as it has an external, which (at least for me), is truly priceless. It's not just the program that continues to give me outstanding results, it's the staff. I walk in there and truly feel home, at ease, encouraged, confident and welcomed. They know you're human, they understand that every week isn't going to be stellar time at the dinner table and also somehow know exactly what to say to keep you feeling like a motivated rock-star. I believe it's because their encouragement comes from the heart, they know it works and they believe in not just the program but in the people that come into their office seeking a change. This is no longer a diet for me. This is something that I hope to continue on for the rest of my life- it would be unwise not to; it's easiness and simplicity is unmatched (and, let me tell you, I would know). I stress to all of those on a weight loss journey to seriously consider and committing to this. Thank you Medi team, for not just being a fantastic support system but for becoming friends of mine, as well. Y'all are too wonderful for words!
