We recently took a vacation to Island Park and stayed at the Mack's Inn resort in one of the cabins. We called prior to arrive to check on ammenities and the set up our reservsation. Told it was a three bedroom with another room containing beds to hold 10 people total, also informed that there would be a televison in the cabin but would have to provide own movies and players due to bad cable reception. Office was very clear about this over phone and there was no television. Upon arrival customer service was excellent. When uloaded into cabin it was well noted that the cabin had a horrible smell and that the cabin we rented was not the same cabin described to us by phone and the photos of cabins on web page are out of date. Went to office to let them know and they office was closed for evening. Smell was actually fumes from gas stove. Had to go to gas station to get assistance. Was late so settle into for evening and take care of it next day. Left before office opened for Yellowstohne National Park. Would have left but no where else available due to holiday weekend. We later discovered a beyond dead bird in cabin and animal feces under couch. Cabin was beyond gross. Old, stained carpets, outdated all around. Holy couch, ripped upolstry. 3 tables, only 2 chairs,cabin sleeps 10 but seats 2? Very Old beds, creeky!! Kept everyone up all night. Curtins held up and holes torn in them and draped. Wrote written complaint about cabin and lies. Called Current Manager after vacation cause no one was available that could help us. Manager was very very rude. Blamed all problems on excessive snow. Told us that if we were that unsatisfied we could sleep in our cars. 6 adults, 2 small children and a preteen. VERY VERY RUDE!!!!! The management alone is not worth the stay. The cabins are pretty much like renting a very old and disgusting trailer house. She said that we get what we pay for. Take some pride in your hotel/cabins. If not refurbished... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
Pros: Roof over head.
Cons: Everything else!! Dirty and management is horrible.
