Review content:
One star is too high - This vet is UNETHICAL, IRRESPONSIBLE, and over-charges.
Dean was called when my otherwise healthy horse (the beautiful sorrel in the photo) had colic. Dean spent about 15 minutes on-site, gave my horse only banamine paste (a $40 value) and instructed us to run out and get Metamucil from Wall Mart. Seriously?! The standard of care is tubing. He charged $314.69 and demanded payment on site. That is a $274.69 farm call, folks.
Of course, this ""treatment"" solved nothing and another vet had to be called out. The second vet, who showed up when he was not on call, conducted a thorough exam, provided the standard of care tubing with mineral oil, and gave more banamine, charged $335. Unfortunately, it was too late to save my sweet guy.
For the record, if Dean had done the responsible thing, I would have happily paid 37x what he charged.
My advice: Save your babies. Save your wallet. RUN. RUN FAST.
