Review content:
I visited your establishment on Spring Road today. Today was to be a monumental day. I was starting my journey to natural hair by way of Locs. I arrived at your salon at 5:00 and I was greeted and told to sit at the shampoo area. The shampoo person used her nails to scrape my scalp raw. I know that some people like a rigorous shampoo but it is to be done with the balls of your fingertips. The stylist Nika (sp) started my hair and it was going well. Even though she continually yelled across the salon about making her evening plans on time, I was ok with that. My problem is that apparently I was an inconvenience because she constantly checked her watch and commented to the other stylist that she had to make her exercise class on time. So she rushed through my service, put me under the dryer and told me SOMEONE WAS GOING TO TAKE OUT MY CLIPS!!! She then grabbed her gym bag, instructed me to come back in two weeks and flew out the door.
I then sat under the dryer with no towel for two hours. No one asked if I was OK or paid me slightest attention. After the clips finished burning my neck the dyer stopped. A stylist came over to check my hair and then started to unravel the twists!! (which I didn’t realize till I arrived at home) WTF!!! Clearly she didn’t know what service I was receiving. Not her fault since my stylist left 2 hours ago to make it to an exercise class! I was then sat back under the dryer. Then another stylist took out my clips, did not oil my scalp or even show me the finished style!! Really? If I had known that this is what happens in a NATURAL HAIRCARE SALON I WOULD HAVE GOT A RELAXER!!! (NOT REALLY)
I hope that you address this issue, because after arriving home, I was so upset that I started to Google reviews on your establishment and found some of the same complaints dating back to 2007!
My family is in the hair care business and you must know that word of mouth can kill a business, and no amount of slick advertising and web pages can replace UNPROFESSIONAL BAD SERVICE.
Unfortunately what was to be a day of freedom forever from chemicals turned out to be a evening of Hell.
Sincerely
Still in pursuit of Nappy Happiness
Cons: UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE WTH?
