Review content:
I have an old Sigma lens that was in need of repair (one of the internal lenses had developed a haze, and was in need of cleaning). So, i took it to this shop (2/13/07), and at first had the impression that things would go ok. I was told that i would have an estimate within that week (by ~2/17/07); this was their first failure. I contacted them the end of the second week (2/23/07), and was told that they had not been able to get the lens apart to appraise the repair. They tried contacting the manufacturer, but they were of no help. However, i was told to hang in there, as they would keep working on it.\r \r I gave them another week, and called again (3/2/07). This time no new progress, and i could not just get the lens back, as there was nobody there to repair it - the guy who was there was too ""backlogged"". So, more waiting. I finally get a call on the 9th (3/9/07), and am told that, the other person is back, and they can look at it if i would like (mind you, this is now the fourth week, and people are still looking at it....), or they can put it back together and i can just take my loss; oh yeah, that is one thing i failed to mention - all of this ""looking at it"" cost me $35 up front. The estimate cost, if you choose to have them fix it, is rolled into the repair cost, but you take your losses if you get sick of waiting after 4 weeks.\r \r I gave it a day to think about it, and called them back the next day, asking them to just put it together - i wanted to actually test it some more, to see if it was worth fixing. So, i get the call Tues (3/13/06) saying i can pick it up. So, i go and do so, and here is what i got back\r \r - A lens that no longer focuses - the mechanism was damaged from the technician pulling on things he shouldn't have.\r -Smudges on almost every lens, including those inside.\r -No fixing of the original issue.\r \r Needless to say, the lens is now in another shop, and i am out my money (no way i would trust them to try fixing it again). Pros: Always was able to answer the phone when i called. Cons: Substandard quality, serivce and speed. Took four weeks to break my lens.
