My boyfriend and I went in once. There was a wild house mouse on one of the shelves (not in any cage). I imagine it happens in many pet stores with all of the food and whatnot, no big deal. Figured it had gotten in to some poison. He was lethargic and obviously ill. I told the woman at the counter. I followed her as she walked back, grabbed the brown mouse by the tail, and plopped it into the tank of white feeder mice. Why on earth would she do that? He was obviously sick if you could hand catch him like that. And to drop him into a tank of other mice where he could infect them? I have snakes, and thankfully I only feed frozen, but I found it disturbing to watch her blatantly poison all of the other mice, for what? An extra two dollars? Ridiculous. Oh, and I don't care what designer breed you have. It's a mutt. Unless it has an actual pedigree, it's a mutt. You breed to keep the health, quality and temperment of an animal in prime condition. If you throw two dogs together because their puppies are cute or you *might* avoid health problems, it's a mutt with a 50/50 chance at a healthy life. Ugh, really people?
