On Nov 23, 2010 I Ordered a Lazy-boy Sofa from Steeple Furniture, Inc. of Rockton, PA on\r Dec 22, 2010 Steeple furniture brought a Sofa that was to be like the one I had ordered, but it was not. It did not have anywhere close the feel of the floor model that I had set in but in the meantime steeple had sold or I would have just taken that one. The next day I called Steeple and told the salesman (Mark) who had sold me the sofa that this sofa your delivery men had delivered was not the one I had ordered. I told him that this was a much firmer sofa then the one I ordered. The one I set in and the one I had though I would be getting was much softer then the one they had delivered. This sofa is like sitting on a bare board. I asked Mark if there was another sofa (like the one I had set on in the beginning, that they had sold, that I could try. I was told by him that yes there was a floor model like the one I had ordered and that I could come up and try. So up I went. It did feel softer then the one they delivered the day before and I told Mark that yes I would try it and his delivery men could bring it down when they take back the 1st one. I told him that it's still not the same as the one I ordered....but I'll see. I wanted it to just be what I had ordered. Like I said this 2nd sofa was softer but no-where near what I had thought I would be getting when I ordered this sofa. I just wanted the sofa I had ordered. When my friends came over, I never said a word to them but asked them to set in this sofa and tell me how it feels; every one of them told me it feels OK but its firm. Firm is not what I ordered.\r \r Dec 27, 2010 (Mon) Called Mark at Steeple Furniture and told him I don’t like this 2nd sofa and would like Store Credit or refund of my $1,275.68, was told by him he would ask owner. If there is a charge for 2nd pick-up of this sofa, I would be willing to pay it because Steeple didn't make the sofa, they just sell them. They have no way of telling how firm the sofa will be till it comes in and they hope the customer will just take it and I'm sure most of the time the customer does get what they ordered, but this was not the case this time. On \r \r Dec 28, 2010 Mark called and told me Owner said “no way” We are not going to do anything..... You have a sofa\r \r In their defense they did try and make it right by bring me the 2nd sofa but they were coming the 8mi to my house to pick up the 1st sofa anyhow so that's not a big deal. I don't think they liked the way this turned out either but in the end by their actions they told me "" we are not taking the $1,275.68 hit, you are. This Furniture store reminds me of a Ins Co. When they are taking your money and selling you Ins they are as nice as can be, anything you want we can do, but when you turn in a claim and talk to the adjuster it's amazing how they are not your friend anymore, they seem to change. There is no more customer service anymore.... at least not in this company.\r \r I'm still debating if I should sue or not, I really don't want to do that, it's not that I'm afraid of losing the case. I just wanted this Furniture store to do the right but I guess I live in a make believe world and it's nothing more then the mighty dollar and greed not doing the right thing and when I say that..... it is about doing the right thing for me........after all I did give them $1,275.68 with the belief that I would get what I paid for but in the end what they said to me was ""Hurray for me and the Hell with you…… a very poor way to treat a customer.\r
