Beware...Hired Kenny's Kustoms, Hwy 9, Longs, SC, to repaint louvers for hatchback Camaro...I took them there and after Kenny looked them over, called me and said he would sand them, primer and paint with semi-gloss for $200. I agreed and 10 days later he called me to say they were bubbling up and that something was on them from long ago. He said it would cost $300 more to strip them and paint them....This was outrageous..I knew enough to tell him to hold off for now til I got out of hospital...I took my brother ( off duty police officer ) with me....We looked at the louvers...they had not been sanded down or prepped in any way visible....There were scratches in the previous paint that were still visible under new paint....We collected the louvers and I did pay what I agreed to pay just to solidify the agreement / verbal contract...So now I will decide what action to take...I feel like I was being duped and it was not appreciated...Best we can do is expose this business...I'm sure some of his work is excellent but i suggest if you use them, write a contract and be specific. I will not use this business ever again and am sharing it with all my fellow car enthusists in this area.... UPDATE, 10,20,2011, I RECEIVED PHONE CALL FROM MAN WHO IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS KENNY FROM KENNY'S KUSTOMS...HE WAS UPSET BY WHAT I HAD WRITTEN. I TOLD HIM I WROTE THE FACTS AND HE RESPONDED WITH "" NEXT TIME I SEE YOU, I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR A**"". I NOW HAVE REPORTED ALL THIS TO THE AUTHORITIES AND INSTEAD OF JUST WRITING A NEGATIVE REVIEW, I HAVE DECIDED TO PERSUE FURTHER LEGAL ACTION WITH HORRY COUNTY AND SOUTH CAROLINA ON THIS BUSINESS AND INDIVIDUAL...I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS OR INDIVIDUAL FOR ANY DEALINGS. I WILL NOT COWER DOWN FROM THE TRUTH OR RETRACT MY REVIEW BECAUSE OF ANY THREATS.
