Review content:
I had a Brazillian wax done here. There were pieces of skin missing when it was ""finished"" and she sent me home with literally a ball of wax between my legs telling me to wash it off at home and shave the remainder off in the shower. I get waxed because I DON'T shave! Any experienced esthetician will tell you that shaving undoes everything you have been working toward during your waxing sessions and it will make the next session as painful as your first (waxing gets easier with each session). The people were friendly, but seriously, I wonder if they have any licensed estheticians on staff. I understand a wax can be painful at times as I get them done regularly every two to three weeks. During this wax there were parts, that don't hurt at all when I had it done by another, that were excruciatingly painful at Gayle's Getaway and with no reward. This was by far, the most unnecessarily painful experience I've ever had. I went home in tears with an unfinished wax and missing chunks of skin. There is supposed to be slight irritation directly after a wax not missing skin, ""wax hickeys"" (from putting it on too thick), and post traumatic stress syndrome. She missed the hair she did wax, and just broke the hair off instead of removing it. The wax they use there is not salon quality wax and can be bought by any unlicensed person at Sally Beauty supply who wants to make an extra buck. I know this for a fact, because I use the same brand under my arms to save money. It is a quality wax for small do-it-yourself jobs such as the underarms, upper lip, and eyebrows. But I would never use this wax for a Brazillian! It is the best quality wax one can buy without a license. That should tell you something right there, and I could have saved myself a lot of grief if I'd paid closer attention to this upon arrival. On a ""happy"" note, she took five dollars off. ha Pros: friendly staff Cons: no experience
