Review content:
Last night we tried the new Jimmy Wilson's on San Felipe at Sage and were very impressed from the time we walked in. We had our 8-year-old with us and as we waited a short 10 minutes for a table near the front door, two women were discussing trash a bit too loudly at the bar. The bartender quickly asked them to turn it down out of respect for our presence. I was truly impressed! The restaurant is tastefully designed with massive wine moving wine racks from floor to ceiling. The husband wanted steak so badly but they're a bit costly at $35. He went for the ribeye anyway which was prefectly prepared and he was satisfied. I chose the Redfish Roulaide, one of the house specials topped with oysters, shrimp and a spicy roux based sauce. Simply delicious! Our server was very attentive but not overly! There is no child's menu so next time we will arrange for a babysitter so our daughter ate crab fingers w/fries and steak and fish bits from our plates. If you love wine, excellent cajun-based seafood and perfectly prepared steaks, Jimmy Wilson's on San Felipe is the place. It's new so not overly crowded even at 7:30 on a Sat night. It will be though as long as the food, service and atmosphere remains as excellent as it is now!
Pros: Service is top notch and excellent seafood and steaks!
Cons: Get a babysitter, no child's menu
