Review content:
My husband and I love pizza so to celebrate our anniversary, we thought we'd treat ourselves to someplace nice in San Diego. It was a horrible experience.\r We waited 5-10 minutes before our server greeted us, the drinks were wrong (c'mon, it's just soda), she never checked on us so my husband had to go to the bar to remedy the drink situation. She was more attentive to the table next to us who sat down after we did and were on dessert when we had our pizza. When it came time for the bill, she just set it on the table, barely said 2 words, and walked away.\r On top of all this, the pizza tasted like it was missing something. We tried 2 different pizzas, but both were very bland. One pizza was a favorite that every other place gets right. The other pizza was new for us, but recommended by the server. \r The set-up in the restaurant is okay, but the temp was way too cold. \r A friend recommended Village Pizza on Orange in Coronado. We should've just gone there rather than staying in downtown SD. Save your time and money and avoid Sammys. (The staff told my husband that the owner of Sammys isn't very nice. Perhaps their feelings led to the terrible service and tasteless food) Pros: Seated quickly - maybe too quickly?? Cons: Service & Food
