I didn't even get a chance to meet the doctor. This was my first appointment, and also my last! Upon arriving, the receptionist was on the phone, and did not even acknowledge my arrival. A simple nod or I'll be right with you would have sufficed. After standing at the desk uncomfortably for a few minutes, she finished her phone call and asked how she could help me. I told her my appointment time and she then had me fill out my paperwork. She then took my copay. After sitting patiently for 50 minutes, I was then called. I was weighed and had my bp taken. I was then told someone would be right in to take my medical history, and then the doctor would see me after that. I waited another 15 minutes, and still no sign of anyone. I opened the door and asked the assistant how much longer it would be and she told me I would be next. When I asked how much longer that meant it would be, she became agitated and told me she couldn't tell me that because she didn't know. I could not believe she got aggrivated with me for asking how long it would be! How dare I?! I then told her that waiting over an hour was unacceptable and asked for my copay back. While waiting for my copay a very nice woman told me that Dr. Shurtleff was worth the wait. I'm sorry, but my idea of a good doctor starts with their ability to hire a competent, respectful staff, and also respects the fact that my time is also valuable. At the very least someone could have said that they were sorry for the long wait! All I saw from the moment I walked in were poor attitudes, and a feeling of intrusion!
