When we bought there in June 2000 space rent was $535 per month. We had gradual increases for 5 years. On Jan1,2006 space rent increased from $625 per month to $935. A group of us hired an attorney and filed suit. Rancho Mesa is owned by MHC, a nationwide mobilehome communities corp, which has lawyers for fighting lawsuits. They drug it out in court for a few years until we all went bankrupt and left. When we left it was our understanding that a new resident has to sign a five year lease for $1100.00 per month. Rancho Mesa is/was a 55+ community. It was full,164 spaces, when we first got there.by the time we left it was 40% empty.
