Review content:
These people are absolutely dishonest, unprofessional and down right criminal. They said from the problems I was having with my laptop, that the backlight needed replaced. They could turn that around in 24 hours. So....I took my computer in and paid the intial $75. Hours later I was told over the phone that the ""real"" problem was the inverter. So...I went back to download some needed documents before they did the rest of the work.\r
When I saw my computer, after having left it with them for just 2 hours and only an authorized ""estimate"" NO work had been authorized......I was stunned. It was clear that they took a screwdriver and pryed the metal trim away from my LCD screen. It was completely twisted and bent beyond repair with huge chunks of paint missing. I lost and said, ""You completely #*&%#-ed up my computer! How are you going to make that look factory-new again?\r
I was told....""Look. There are no screws in this screen. How did you expect us to get behind it to fix the backlight?"". I told him that if he was a REAL COMPAQ expert, he would have been familiar with ALL models andunderstand how they were put together.\r
I got my documents downloaded. He then told me I'd need to pay to have the inverter ""rushed"" because he didn't have one on site. I paid over $250 up front...even before the work was done. \r
Not surprisingly, I got another call. This time he said it was the ""mother board"". I told him to forget it.\r
When I went in, I at least had a computer that functioned. They found some trim from a computer scrap heap to put around the front of the monitor. Now...my computer doesn't work at all.\r
I'm considering small claims court. PLEASE stay away from these people. I really believe I was robbed in every sense of the word.\r
