I always have a Brown Derby cake for \r
my birthday, and this year I had one from the Viking Bakery--big mistake! Too much chocolate cake, cake stale, little fruit (and the peaches were canned) and, quite expensive. What a disappointment -- I did not even want to eat it. The pieces of strawberry cake we also purchased were very good--too bad we did not purchase that cake. \r
If you want a great Brown Derby cake go to the Yellow Cottage bakery in Branchville, NJ -- worth the ride. They are famous for it. Next year I will go back to the Yellow Cottage or go without! The Viking was always a good bakery years ago--not so much now.
