Review content:
Giacomo's is located on Westheimer between River Oaks High School and Kirby. We were surprised about the contemporary cuisine of this restaurant after the previous restaurant there was more traditional Italian. Giacomo's has a very authentic contemporary authentic Italian feel. The setting is energetic and fun with lots of windows and an outside patio that is hopping most of the year. The other patrons we saw included singles and families from the nearby River Oaks area as well as lots of younger singles and couples from Midtown, Montrose, and the Museum District who seemed to be regular patrons. The staff is young, friendly, and on top of things. The menu is a blend of contemporary and traditional italian food - all delicious. Their wine selections are listed on a huge chalk board on one wall. What will delight you is the wide selection wines from all over Italy and a respectable collection of wines from other places, including California, Spain, and Australia. What will shock you is that the wine bottle prices are about 1/2 that of other nearby good restaurants. I highly recommend Giacomo's.
Pros: Amazing wine choices at reasonable prices, excellent food
Cons: Not a thing
