The beer depot has been a home to me for almost 18 years. Why' well , Let me start by saying my name is Joe Castillo and currently live and work in Aguascalientes,Mexico. At the begining I was invited by a good friend who has been a beer drinking legend at the B.D. named Henry Travieso. My first visit there was a shocker! I looked around and I saw this open space with antique, old dusty, rusted tables, chairs, bar stools and strange unusual people, strange looking customers. I proceded to get a cold one or a Beer, when all of suddened I was into this oasis of beerlanda at the beer depot. Why do I love this place. Well...it's the beer,cold..chilling refreshing after a hard day of whatever! Sitting by the open .. garage door with it's old rustic picnic tables and beer tasting breeze coming your way. inside the depot you can sit at the bar stools and look at yourself on that extra..extra large bar mirror. Imagine a cold one ..(oh !! by ...way beer is usually $1.50 ..$1.75 or $2.00. cheap!!! ) either talking to someone..about anything..or just plain B.S... Or you can just relax..yourself and look into the mirror and imagine anything you want to think about with a cold...chilling beer ,The B.D.way . Oh ..yea!!! thers.. them fritters or chataras you can eat .. Porkrinds, with the salsa, green limon, tacos any type from the piedras negras rest. right next door. There's other B.D. things, such as the loud train that passes by..reminders of old times gone by. the famous phrases "" otra round, are you ready for one, listo, que tomas,..ah..I miss all of this and there's lot's more but not enough space. In conclusion, the BD with's individuals like Shirly, diane, dr.dave..not really a medico but everyone calls him that, pipo, henry, art, and plenty more. this is the Beer Depot Ice House..part of the americanculture with a touch of tejano, hispanic and other things you can think about. in Mexico nothing like this exists or compares! Home sweet Home !!! The Beer Depot..
