Review content:
My regular dentist sent me to see Dr. Brockman because he said I had gum disease and that I would need further treatment. I was pretty nervous about going to a specialist but the ladies at Dr. Brockman's office put me at ease right away. When I met Dr. Brockman, he was so warm and personable that my anxiety disappeared. The doctor did a very thorough exam and told me I would need something called scaling and root planing, followed by surgery, to treat my gum disease. Dr. Brockman and his assistant were patient about answering all of my questions and I felt I understood the treatment I needed. \r \r A few weeks later, I had scaling and root planing with the hygienist. Her name is Denise and she was very good. She kept checking to make sure I was comfortable (I was), and she explained the procedure as she did it. She wore these little magnifying glasses that allowed her to see more detail; I haven't seen a hygienist wear those before but I think it's a great idea.\r \r When I had my surgery with Dr. Brockman, I decided to take the medication they offered to prescribe in order to relax me during the procedure. I had a friend drive me to the office the morning of my surgery. I was very relaxed during the surgery and it seemed like it wasn't any different than getting a tooth filled or getting a root canal. I didn't have any discomfort at all and Dr. Brockman and his assistant made sure I was doing well. \r \r When I got home and unpacked the care bag I was given, I discovered it had a container of homemade soup made by Dr. Brockman's wife. The soup was frozen so I saved it for the following day - it was delicious! The evening of my procedure, Dr. Brockman phoned me at home to see how I was feeling and to tell me I did well during the surgery. \r \r Dr. Brockman and his staff went above and beyond to make me feel like a valued patient.
