I have NEVER had such a bad experience anywhere in my entire life. My husband brought my iPod in for a battery change a few days before Christmas. It was supposed to take 24 hours but turned into a 5 week nightmare ... literally. We were assured by Jason (who represented himself to be the owner) that they are an authorized Apple Service Provider ... the are NOT! During the process, the person doing the work tore the ribbon which connects to the menu dial (Nano 4th Gen). Fine. Nobody called to say there was a problem and that a new ribbon had to be ordered. Fine. But when we called, we were met with confusion and rudeness to the point that Jason yelled at me. Fine again. After 3 weeks, we went into the shop to make sure the iPod was even there. After another yelling match, we learned that the replacement ribbon they ordered had been sent back and they'd order another one. Fine again. All we asked was to keep us informed. A week later, after hearing NOTHING from the shop, we called back only to learn that the ribbon attached to the hold button had come off when trying to put the battery back in the case. So back to the shop we went. They no longer make this part and wanted to use the board from another iPod to replace mine which was unacceptable to me. Jason took a defensive position and started to yell and scream at my husband and I telling us, in the process, that his wife left him, he has a problem with his employees (which lied to us time and time again ... when they weren't yelling), he wanted to put a bullet through his head, he served in Iraq & Afghanistan where he saw all his friends killed and killed people himself (just what a customer wants to hear after reading signs posted in the shop that he carries a gun and won''t hesitate to use it). Needless to say, I was done and NEVER wanted to see or deal with this person again. As my iPod was in bits and most likely beyond repair (according to the several AUTHORIZED Apple Service Centers I called) and no longer had any confidence in their abilities or trusted them, I was only willing to take a replacement. Finally tired of each other, he agreed to order a new one from Apple (6th Gen) and gave me the agreement in writing but refused to offer any proof that he actually placed the order. Based on our previous experience, I didn't have much faith in him. According to Apple's website, their product are received 3 days after the order is placed. One week after the incident, the iPod STILL hadn't arrived and I was afraid we were going to small claims court (we had made the mistake of telling Jason we lived out of town and would be leaving soon, so I was worried he thought we wouldn't pursue the issue if he reneged), so I wrote an email to ask when it might arrive and that I would have to take further action if I didn't hear anything. He wrote back saying that the matter was closed and that I'd get it when I got it (I'm still shaking my head in disbelief). To his credit, it arrived the next day but it was NOT what we agreed upon. What I received is a refurbished unit from a third party (NOT Apple). It's in working condition so, as far as I'm concerned, the matter is closed but it was a complete nightmare and something I hope this review will help others to avoid in the future. Please check the better business bureau. I wish I had. Somebody filed a complaint in September that would have kept my husband from crossing their threshold. Every other review here is for a service that is easily managed by anybody who has even the slightest knowledge about computers and I wouldn't be if the company wrote them themselves ... they are that dishonest! Save yourself the headache and frustration ... go to Ribbits. And if you have an Apple product, Haddock Computers is your place. Do NOT go to One Stop Geek Shop. You WILL regret it!
