Review content:
We've dined here for lunch on several occassions and the lunch selections have been fine. With their limited evening hours we opted for a family gathering. The five of us arrived on time for our Friday night reservation.\r
\r
While not full, the restaurant was fairly busy. After promply handing us the menus, our server disappeared for close to 10 minutes before taking our drink orders, not a big deal but proved to be the norm with her for the balance of our dining experience.\r
\r
The smoked salmon was good and so is the home made bread. Mom's brie had nothing on it whatsoever, a little odd as brie is fairly easy to dress up. All that was on the plate was a round of cheese, nothing else.\r
\r
After finishing a nice Quo Chardonnay, we opted for a second bottle which sat on the bar for another 10 minutes. I finally waved to the bartender/owner who brought over the bottle. The bottle cooler came when the second bottle was almost finished!\r
\r
The entree's were odd and rather boring. Two us had crabmeat cantollini, very dry, tasteless and not enough sauce. My Brother-in-Law had duck that he said didn't even taste like duck! His green beans were overcooked and mushy. My wife opted for a goat cheese and beet salad served with a dressing that detracted rather then enhanced the dish.\r
\r
Our server never checked with us once while we ate the entree's, obviously not interested in our dining experience.\r
\r
With mediocre food and service that was poor, it might be a bit before we try Riverside again.
Pros: Quaint
Cons: Poor service, uninspired menu selections
