Review content:
I first met Lucius when I signed-up for guitar lessons at Sylvia Porters Studio of Music and Dance in Graham, NC in 1959. He was, even at the age of 10 one of her best students. A permanent memory for me was when we were about 12 years old and Mrs. Porter had moved to Burlington in the same building as WBAG and Lucius came in on Friday night with a new Fender Stratocaster! Alan Brantley and I stood there in utter amazement and kept repeating....'he got a STRAT!!'.
The cool thing was..he was good enough for one! Voted 'Best Dressed' he always wore coat and tie in class and never seemed to let his talent, popularity or anything go t his head. One of the nicest guys I knew growing up in Burlington.
